Why I am here at La Verdad Christian College

Hi! I am Joshua, and I am a Mass Communication student. At first, I am a very shy person.  Being a Mass communication student is hard for me at the beginning. In the first place, Mass communication course is out of my list. I've never imagined myself to become a student in this course. Originally, I want to take a course about computer technologies, but now I realized that it is not for me.

As the 1st semester goes by, I didn't notice that I fell in love in this course. Even though there are a lot of projects and problems that I am facing now, and I feel so hard because of that, regardless, I love it still. I want to finish this since I've started it, and the best place to do it is here, at La Verdad Christian College. Here at La Verdad, I experienced the problems; feel the pressure, have a lot of pending works; especially paper works; how I hate it! I also experienced helping my fellow students, eat delicious food packs, have a lot of real friends, and became closer to God. I know that studying in this school was not the only reason why I am here, there must be others.

By this time, I am not so certain that I will be getting to a higher level. There are projects that weren't done yet, and it’s making me in hurry. I don’t know if I will be able to finish all of those because the time has come and the end of the semester is near. I might say goodbye but I hope not, ‘cause as much as possible, I want La Verdad to be part of my success.

MCT 13's Thanks Giving

Problems are always there. Whatever we do to make it all solved, they are still there. There are times that problems are giving us too much pressure that makes our life so difficult.  Sometimes, we feel like we will not going to make it. And sometimes, we feel like we will be giving up.  There are times in our life that we want to quit. When we are by ourselves or with our close friends, some of us slowly cry.  But every day in our life, we always remember that there is someone giving us strength to help us overcome these challenges, struggles and problems. There is always a great God. That’s why, we, the MCT 13 students of La Verdad Christian College Caloocan are giving thanks to Him.

We know that not all of us will make it through. Maybe some of us will be remove and will not experience more. We are peered pressured but still, we want to give thanks and praise His Name not until the end of our scholarship but until we go to His heaven.  We hope that He will still continue giving the love that He is giving to us. We know that words are not enough to express how great He is. And we also know that singing praises to Him is not enough to give as a return, but it is the only thing that we can do. We are just small and useless humans, but despite of all that we feel important, because we feel His love and kindness every day of our life.

We are glad, so blessed and very grateful to our Almighty Father.  In His willing, we will continue to praise and glorify His Name. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

Isang Araw Lang the Movie

One of the best movies that I’d already watched is “Isang Araw Lang” by our own Kuya Daniel Razon. Isang Araw Lang is produced by Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International (BMPI). In the movie Kuya is a jeepney driver who strives so hard to sustain the children that he adopted. The movie aims to inspire change in the society. I think Kuya wants people to realize the essence of his Isang Araw Lang advocacy calling on for people to do the good they can for their fellowmen.

In the movie his name is also Kuya Daniel. I really like the movie because it inspires people to help those who are in need and also there are a lot of lessons that we can learn in the movie Isang Araw Lang .Kuya is really inspiring, in the movie he shows how important to help others even he himself needs help, he is so very understanding, he is also a soldier before but then he surrender his work because in his work there are lot of people that can be in harm and also I learned that we don’t need to have a high position in life just to help others because there are lot of ways in helping other people. In the movie there are some action scenes, comedy and drama. It is also based on the real thing that happens in true life.

How I wish that people who had already watched it too understands the essence of the movie. As we had already watched it too, we should be applying the things that we had learned in the movie. The movie for others seems so simple but if we will understand it deeply, it is really inspiring, having a lot of lessons. As a Mass Communication Technology student, I can also say that the production of the movie was really great and how I wish I can learn it too, God Willing. Isang Araw lang is the best ever movie. I had watched it already for two times, and even if I’ll watch it for so many times, I will still like it.

Symon: Samsung ST77 (my favorite gadget)

At the times that I get along with my friends, it has always been an interesting thing for me to take photos of us, including myself, for me to be able to keep memories worth taken care of. At first, all I get along is with my phone and low quality shots disappoint me until I had this 16 mega pixel Samsung digital camera!

Now, I was more interested taking shots of our bonding moments. I was able to take high quality video as well but not only that. I use my camera for entertainment and academic purposes like when we are required to submit short film for our Basic Video Coverage subject and when we are required to shoot for documentations and stuffs like what we’re gonna have for our project in NSTP 2. One interesting thing about this camera is that the battery performance is well. It doesn’t easily get emptied and lasts long. Another, the picture and video quality is very well and gives me high quality shots. The menu gives me chances for editing my photos and videos plus it gives me less time to be spent for its set-up.

I remember those times when I and my friends went to Quezon City circle for our BVC shooting, this is the time I realized how useful my camera was. When their camera is battery exhausted, it was the time the only thing they've decided using mine and I felt joy about it. We enjoyed the moment without getting bored for even a single moment.

AGAPE (my favorite song)

The first time I’ve heard the title of the song I wondered what the meaning is, then when I started hearing the song when it is played in streets and often times in jeepneys, my first impression about the music is that it was about LOVE.
When I got my free time for searching its meaning, I was right about my first impression.

What does Agape means?
-In a state of wonder or amazement, as with the mouth wide open.
-Wide open.
-Agápe (ἀγάπη agápē[1]) means "love,"

I liked the melody of the song. I liked the story as well. It was good except that the version I heard is not in its high quality but I still enjoyed listening to it, until such time I realized I got LSS to it and that made it my favorite song. It was the first song I thought about when our professor asked for our favorite song. The lyrics goes like this..

I’m not fond of listening to acoustic music but this song made me listen to those kind of music. It was fun!
For me, the lyricist of this song was really confused about whom to share the real love. I don’t find myself situated to this kind of dilemma but I can feel how had it is for the author that made him write this song. Those ideas made me realize how interesting it was to listening acoustic love songs. It was a quiet and relaxing song. Someday it would fit my personality but the better version of it, probably. Thanks for reading my blog!
